Sales Director, Insightz - UK

Role Summary:

Borderless Access is seeking a commercially driven, consultative Sales Director to join a growing team to accelerate growth within our Customized Research business unit. This role is responsible for developing strategic client relationships, driving new business acquisition, expanding existing global accounts, and positioning Borderless Access as a leading insight and intelligence partner across consumer, B2B and wellness sectors.

The ideal candidate combines strong commercial instincts with a sophisticated understanding of market research, insight-led consulting, and enterprise stakeholder engagement. They must be capable of selling both tactical research solutions and large-scale strategic insight partnerships.

This is a senior “hunter-first” role requiring proactive outbound business development, high-value consultative selling, and close collaboration with research, operations, and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Map solutions with prospect requirements and focus on selling BA Insightz solutions e.g. Brand Health Tracking, Concept, CXi, Qualitative, Product Testing, Agile solutions.
  • Identify, pursue, and convert new enterprise opportunities across key verticals including FMCG, media, financial service, wellness, luxury, technology and professional sectors.
  • Build strategic outreach plans targeting insight, strategy, innovation, brand, and customer intelligence stakeholders.
  • Lead prospecting activities including outbound engagement, networking, referrals, conference participation, and executive relationship building.
  • Drive consultative sales conversations that uncover broader business challenges rather than isolated project requests – move beyond discretionary project spend.

Commercial Leadership

  • Own revenue generation against quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Maintain a healthy, accurately forecasted pipeline through CRM discipline and active opportunity management.
  • Lead commercial proposal development alongside internal insight partner teams.
  • Negotiate pricing, scope, MSAs, and commercial frameworks with enterprise clients.
  • Improve conversion rates through stronger sales process management and proactive follow-up discipline.

Thought Leadership & Market Positioning

  • Represent Borderless Access externally through webinars, conferences, industry events, and client-facing thought leadership.
  • Collaborate with marketing on campaigns, insight reports, case studies, and account-based marketing initiatives.
  • Identify emerging market trends and client needs to inform service development and positioning.

Internal Collaboration

  • Partner with research and where appropriate panel teams to ensure commercially viable and high-quality project delivery.
  • Provide feedback from the market to support innovation and capability development.
  • Mentor and support junior commercial team members where appropriate.

Key Skills and qualifications

  • 10 -15+ years’ experience in B2B sales within:
    -Customized market research
    -Insights consulting
    -Consumer intelligence
    -Data & analytics
  • Proven track record of securing and growing six-figure enterprise accounts.
  • Experience selling international or multi-market research programs.
  • Strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
  • Existing network within insight, marketing, strategy, innovation, or customer intelligence functions preferred.
  • Highly proactive and commercially driven.
  • Strong consultative selling capability.
  • Executive presence and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable engaging both strategically and tactically.
  • Excellent proposal and storytelling abilities.
  • Strong follow-up discipline and ability to move opportunities forward.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to operate in a fast-moving growth environment.
  • Collaborative and solutions-oriented.

 Important Notes:

  • Should not have a non-compete to sell any of the services/products of BA.
  • The position will be hired as a full-time employee.
  • The position will involve work from home or virtual office; and expenses towards the same will be duly compensated.

 

 Essential:

Extensive knowledge of UK market and where appropriate across Europe in focus-markets such as: Netherlands, Germany, France
