A Deep Dive to Understand the Market Quickly – Borderless Access Study

market in an agile way - Borderless Access Study

Business Problem

  • With quick and erratic changes in food consumption patterns post covid and the industry grappling to make sense of the behavioral shifts and identify key consumers, we took a deep dive into the KSA and UAE region. Our goal was to understand the market, the audience and the competitive landscape in order to come up with fresh market segments for businesses looking to enter/ expand or/ and are operating in the markets.

What & How We Did It

  • Using our online panel capabilities in the target regions, we collected data quantitatively and qualitatively, which helped us come up with an extensive report – The Food Panel KSA. Our research included children accompanied by parents and mapped food consumption end-to end from home food to pre-cooked food to eating out and beverage consumption.

Key Insights

  • We saw major recovery in all the sectors in 2022, while delivery and take away was seen crawling back from the massive hit it had to take in the gains in 2021 due to Covid. Fast food, casual dining, snacking were all seeing recovery, with more children in the audiences. In AED terms, the biggest recovery was seen in traditional and other QSR sectors.

Client Impact :

Typically, this region had low or critical credibility issues on obtaining market level insights from digital methods. The prevalent notion was to use traditional approaches like mall intercepts or door to door data collection methodology. The success of this solution was not only in implementing a fully digital method for this syndicated reporting but also in getting commercial success by having repeat subscriptions to the information.
