In a world full of career choices, my journey began with a call from a friend that landed me the biggest opportunity I could get at  that  time, involving travel and meeting people which I always had a penchant for.

Little did I realize that I was stepping into the realm of Human Resources. As I look back at it, it’s been a journey filled with highs and lows, woven with strong strands of commitment to people, the heartbeat of any organization.

I majored in sales and marketing, envisioning a career defined by numbers. Yet my inner calling drew me to a very different space, Human Resources . Over the years from the formal setting of boardrooms to the informal yet heartfelt space of 1X1 conversations with employees, my career has been a kaleidoscope of varied experiences. Needless to say, challenges have been as diverse as solutions.

People have always been my passion and I found my purpose in HR. From Campus drives to Talent Acquisition to being a strategic partner to building teams, the spectrum of roles I  have been in span beyond administration and compliance. The essence of these roles is about nurturing human capital that fuels the growth of an organization.

Through these diverse experiences- the one thing that has always stood out for me is authenticity…. Being authentic and transparent has been my approach be it with my bosses, peers or my team. It obviously didn’t come easy. Time and again I have seen the struggle  one faces in being themselves, owing to strategic priorities, complexities of the system and expectations pertaining to the role.

I truly consider people to be the soul of any organization and strongly believe that bringing “ heart” to the workplace is a meaningful impact  Human Capital can create.

The power of authentic leadership is found not in external arrangements, but in the human heart” – Parker J Palmer

My path so far has shown me the way to be and not to be as well, thanks to my mentors who have played a role in shaping my personality.  My commitment is to keep evolving and becoming a better leader for my team.

I am fortunate to be a part of Borderless Access, an organization that celebrates individuality and lets you be “YOU”. This is such a welcome change from my earlier experiences of being frowned upon for asking questions, challenging the status quo and being honest about things.

This is a stepping stone in building great workplaces and defining the culture of an organization. At Borderless Access, respect for all individuals is the foundation of everything that we do. My story aligns with the company’s mission of successful business and customer success, by creating a positive and  inclusive environment.
